Hi all! Hope you can help me with this, it's driving me mad! For some reason
I can no longer just click on many hyperlinks to be taken to the webpage - I
have to press the CTRL button at the same time. In fact, I couldn't even post
this message just by clicking on 'new thread' and 'question' - I had to press
CTRL and click to do it! Anyone know what is causing this or how I sort
it???? Thanx!

Maybe It's Right To Be Nervous Now...

That type of behavior is usually caused by a pop-up blocker.
Check any security applications that you have installed to see
if they contain that feature.

You might also want to check any Internet Explorer toolbars
that you may have installed. The Google toolbar is one that
includes a pop-up blocker. Also, go to Control Panel ->
Internet Options and click on the Privacy tab. You can turn off
the built-in IE pop up blocker there or change the "Filter
level" by clicking on the Settings button.

Good luck

Hey! Thankyou! It WAS because I had a pop-up blocker enabled, and
everything's working again now!!!! I'd almost say I was happy if I wan't
having problems with my stepdaughter's laptop wireless connection... !!!! But
I won't bore you with that. Thanks again!

You're welcome. Glad to hear you've got the pop-up blocker
under control.

If you haven't done so already, you might want to post your
networking question to the appropriate newsgroup. Here are two
possibilities:

Discussions in Windows XP Networking and the Web
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/...ft.public.windowsxp.network_web&lang=en&cr=US

Discussions in Windows Wireless Networking
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...public.windows.networking.wireless&sloc=en-us

Don't feel too bad, troubleshooting wireless networks can be a
real PITA. If it makes you feel better, here's my latest
experience. Got a call from my brother recently because he
couldn't access the internet from his Toshiba laptop. An hour
later, we finally figured out that someone had hit the button
on the front of the laptop that enables/disables wireless
networking.

Good luck
