"Links" file icon

No big deal but, how do I get rid of the "links" folder icon, in the
favorites panel, of IE6. I delete it but it comes back upon reboot. It is
just an empty folder icon.

. Maybe try this, right click on Links go to properties
Click to expand...
check the hidden folder Attribute, and then go to to
sharing and make it a private folder, no password needed.
Maybe out of sight out of mind.
 
Download Tweak UI, choose the Explorer chapter header, uncheck the Show
Links option.
