Links don't work in OE message bodies

My brother uses XP Pro.

For no apparent reason urls and email addys in OE message bodies will
no longer work as hot links. This also is happening in Excel sheets.

Ideas?

Hyperlinks in an e-mail message do not work in Outlook 2000 or in Outlook
2002:
