Limited or no connectivity

I'm really angered here so please ignore my frustration when you read this.
I have a three computer network all running Windows XP HE, all with the
newly released service pack 2 installed. Computer one my Dell is the base
computer and is the computer that is connected to the internet dialup
connection. My wife's computer could before service pack 2 connect to the
internet two ways, through my Dell computer or through dialup connection.
Computer three connect to the internet only through my Dell. I need the
wife's computer to do both types of connections because it's a laptop she
takes on the road. But after we installed service pack 2 and after she
dialed up the first time it won't let her connect to the LAN and go through
my Dell for her internet connection. She has an icon in the system tray that
reads limited or no network connectivity. How do I fix this to work both
ways? Please make this simple in plain easy to understand language. I know
next to nothing about networking.

Thanks
Rodger

Rodger,

well, that's not quite true. It only says this: "If too many
things go wrong and you get the impression that the installation
is damaged, the second last resort (before installing from
scratch) is a repair installation."

But it says other things too.
