Limited or No Connectivity

I'm getting said error and have reviewed several of the other posts with no
luck. My IPCONFIG settings are:

Connection Specifice DNS - Nothing
Autoconfig IP Address - 169.254.89.41
Subnet Mask - 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway - Nothing

When I ipconfig /renew, I get the following error msg:

An invalid argument was supplied.

I ran SP2 patch and all it did nothing to fix this problem. I've shutdown
PC, powered down Linksys router and powered back up in reverse order.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ken,

Check for LSP / Winsock corruption.

The LAN connection might be corrupted. Go to Device Manager and
un-install the network adapter that the connection uses. Then, click
Action | "Scan for hardware changes", which will re-install the
network adapter and create a new LAN connection.

Thanks Steve/Chuck,
I tried everything I can think of including you ideas but nothing works. I
can't remove/uninstall TCP/IP and removing and reinstalling the network
adapter and nothing seems to work. I even installed a new network adapter and
that one would not connect. I 've checked my network, moved to another port,
shut down, etc and none of that worked either.

I'm going to use the restore option and see if it'll let me go back to
previous config. Hopefully that will work.

Thanks for your help.

Ken,

Thanks for updating the thread. Please let us know how the restore option works
for you.

The restore worked and have had no problem since. I hate it when I can't
figure something out and have to use the RESTORE, but thank BGates for it
anyway. Thank all who helped me with this.
