limited acct options for game playing

Hello,

Is there a way to set up a limited account and still allow a game to be
played that requires a DVD and internet access? We have Windows XP home
edition and I have established a limited account for my son who wants to play
his Diablo2 game. Right now when he tries to play he gets an error message
indicating that the drive can't be read or that it doesn't detect the DVD. I
don't get any sort of prompt for a password to allow the detecting of the
DVD.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I'm presuming that your son's login can see the DVD drive itself in Windows
Explorer, right?

First complain to the game developer, because it's their code that that
demands this. It's lazy programming, plain and simple.
Beyond that, you might look at filemon & sysmon from www.sysinternals.com to
see if you can find out where, in the registry & file system, this
application expects the logged-in user to have access.
