LG CD-RW DVD-ROM combo drive not working correctly.

I have a Windows XP Home SP2 system that has a CD-ROM drive in it. I am
trying to add a CD-RW / DVD ROM combo drive to it.

I have installed the LG CD-RW/DVD ROM combo drive. If I open My Computer in
Windows XP, I can see the CD-RW drive listed as well as the CD-ROM drive.
However, if I try to open the CD-RW drive contents using Windows Explorer,
nothing happens. I get no error or nothing. If I right-click and select
explore, then I get the contents of My Computer, and not the contents of the
CD. For some reason XP does not recognize any CD's in the new drive. I can
however play DVD's using media player and can burn CD-RWs using Nero, but
Windows explorer does not function on the drive.

Can someone tell me what is wrong here and how I can fix it?

If the CD-RW that you are trying to read was originally created with UDF
format, you may need to re-install that application/reader. Two versions of
this tool are Roxio's Drag to CD and Ahead (Nero) InCD.

The CD's are not formatted using UDF.
