Expand instead of Play on CD-ROM/DVD

Pierre

hi,

when I insert a video DVD/CD-ROM in my DVD drive, XP open an explorer
windows showing the CD/DVD content instead of trying to play its
content. if I right-click on the drive in explorer while CD/DVD is
inserted, the default action is Expand and Play does not even show :(

any idea ?

TIA, Pierre

Are you trying to play a movie? Executable? Music?

Hold down the [Shift] key as you insert the CD (or maybe the [Ctrl] key, I
forget which]

I would like to play a movie/listen to music but it seems that XP
(SP3) does not recognize the media as what they are and treat them as
data media instead of what they are.
if I manually run Media Player or any software DVD player, I can play
movie/listen to music but the explorer seems not to "see" that I did
not inserted video/music medium :(
