Lexmark Z500-Z600 series driver issues (Z615)

So I've downloaded the latest Vista drivers from Lexmark, run the installer
and followed the instructions to the letter. Halfway through install, a
message pops up from the task bar:

"Device Driver was not successfully installed: Lexmark Z600 series, Wizard
cancelled by user"

I haven't cancelled anything! My printer won't install. It just sits there
with the power light flashing away (indicating a communication problem) I can
hook it up to my laptop (XP) and it works fine.

Anyone any ideas?

If this is a USB printer, it should NOT be plugged into the computer before you
install the drivers. Install the driver first and then plug in the printer when
asked.

Yes I did it that way, thanks.

Funny, a few hours later when I fired up my external USB HDD, the rest of
the install process kicked in for the printer drivers.

Still didn't work though... :\

Unplug printer, uninstall printer, reinstall driver, connect printer?
(worth a try)

I too am having the same problems. What was windows thinking? If a device
is certified to work with windows vista does that actuaklly mean that it will?
