I tried it a few times and no luck. Then i went to my local shop, where i
can also buy refilled carts and a man said that Lex carts is very hard to
refill. Maybe model 55 is somewhat better in this way, since it's more
expensive - at least here Z55 is about 5-7 times more expensive than Z33 or
Z34 as these two are always under special deal... In any way, in USA
printers are generally much cheaper than here. Like Canon i950 - here it
costs about 600 US$.
I'm only familiar with cartridges for the Z55, but I understand the
procedure is basically the same for all Lexmark cartridges.
I just pop off the cartridge cap - it simply snaps on or off for the
Z55, no tape needed - and then have 3 holes for the different colours.
I refill until I see the 'cotton' material get saturated, but no more.
Overfilling forces ink into the next chamber, contaminating the color.
I had that problem, started getting orange instead of yellow. Solved
it by removing a ml or two of the color red.
The i950 is expensive in Canada too, almost double the price of the
i850. ($399 CDN versus $229)
