I have had trouble since day 1 with my printer
uninstalling itself. Dell tells me it is not something
they can help me with. When I finally talked to someone
that would help me, he walked me through uninstalling
windowsXP and reinstalling. This did not help. Lexmark
tells me to install more drivers, I do not know enough
about this to do it without any help. I have had people
look at this computer and try to figure out what it could
be and they have no ideas, they have never had this
happen before. The person at Dell told me that it could
be a problem with WindowsXP. Can someone please help me--
I have been fighting with this for over 2 years now.
 
Disconnect the printer from the PC.

Follow Bruce Sanderson's very detailed instructions on how to clean up ALL
printer drivers and pay particular attention to his special section on
Lexmark printers.

After cleaning reboot the PC. Download a new set of drivers from the
Lexmark website at www.lexmark.com.

Install the software and do NOT reconnect the printer to the PC until the
software tells you to do so.
