Lexmark X5150 - Printer Sharing

S

Steve Paul

Any clues regarding Printer sharing a Lexmark all in one
X5150 printer with a small Windows XP (2-5 user) network.

Sharing is not the problem...all XP Workstations can see
printer and connect...and remote users can print, but it
just stays in the que on the Host.
Can only get it to print if I re-boot Host system and/or
shut off printer.

Lexmark Tech support has been no help.
MS Knowledge base, as an article or two, but mainly on
older Lexmark models and with Windows95/98 printer
sharing.
Anybody else seen this?

I have a Lexmark X7350 (an all-in-one) and was having the same problem. My print jobs from my laptop would just sit in the que on the host computer. I ran across posts about firewalls often being an issue with networking Lexmark printers. I removed the Windows firewall from my host computer ( I left the Windows firewall intact on my laptop), and removed an AOL software called Port Magic, which helps monitor traffic to my computer while on the internet. Once these things were done, my jobs printed quickly. Good luck!
