Lexmark Printer Z715

I installed a new printer cartridge and the screen came up for me to choose
the cartridge but at this point I can't choose a cartridge. It says that
install printer cartridge is not responding. What should I do?

Waaaay too obvious, but, did you remove all of the tape from the print head
on the cartridge?
Heirloom, old and bought an Epson to go with
my Lexmark
