Left on server

I have Freeserve email address but use Windows Mail, I occasionally log on
to webmail on the orange website to check the spam filter but I have found
some emails get left in the inbox that are neither marked as spam or when I
check emails on WM it does not pick them up, so I have to delete them or
access them on the webmail page. I do not have the option to leave mail on
server checked so I am a little confused as to why WM does not pick up these
emails, it's as though they do not exist except when logged onto orange
webmail, I hope I've explained problem ok, any ideas?,

Please be clear about when you're talking about your ISP' spam filter and
when you're talking about the WinMail's.

Does "doesn't pick them up" mean doesn't receive them or doesn't identify
them as spam?

When I log on to webmail on Orange's website it will have emails in inbox
but if I then check emails on WM it does not recognize their existence so I
can only read them on Orange's website, WM acts as though there are no
emails to receive.

I don't know what could cause that from Windows Mail's side.
Perhaps Orange has a policy that you can only download a
message once, and it wrongly marked those as already having
been downloaded.

I have just noticed that the emails that WM is not downloading are only
correct after '@' sign & are mostly spam but occasional valid mail addressed
such as member@ rest of email address.

If you have another email address such as a free Hotmail one,
perhaps you can forward those emails from Orange's website
to your alternate email address.

Do you have the junk mail filter set to permanently delete rather than move
to the Junk E-mail filter?

P

Phil

No I haven't got junk mail filter set to permanently
delete.................., the emails that are being left on the server in
the inbox are mainly spam that are slightly incorrectly addressed before the
@ sign & that seems to be enough for either WM not to see them as mail for
me or a problem specific to Orange, not a major hassle just slightly
irritating when for instance Orange's own newsletter is addressed to
member@(restofemailaddress,

Phil.

Phil, do you perhaps have more than one Freeserve mail account, and you are
set in WM to poll one and accessing the other at the Orange website?
https://web.orange.co.uk/r/login/

Consider removing the FS account from WM and rebuild it to see if it will
poll messages then?
