learning how to fax & send faxes on windows xp 7955

i dont understand what they are talking about when they
mention a fax device. i do not know if i have one or not
and where would it be located. any help from someone to
set up my fax machine will be greatly appreciated.

First of all, i would advise you to install Fax from Control Panel >
Add-Remove Programs > Windows Components > Fax Services.
Then open fax console from Start Menu > Accessories > Communications > Fax >
Fax Console. The help in Fax console should get you started.

You need a analog fax modem and a telephone line to be able to fax from your
Windows XP machine. Or you can connect to a shared fax printer on Windows
Server 2003 or SBS Server Fax.
