Layering text over a movie clip

I am trying to layer text over a movie clip in powerpoint. The point is to
be able to have song lyrics project over a movie clip. I have tried various
settings on the custom animation and it always plays the movie clip first,
then displays the text box. Any ideas? Thank you.

Short answer, you can't. Movies always come out on top.
