We use power point to project words for songs at church on the screen. how
can we combine this with a motion background. I tried to create a text box
over the movie clip... but as soon as the clip begins to play... the words
disappear. how do we keep the words from disappearing?

Hi Gerry,

The words don't really disappear, they are just displayed BEHIND the movie.
This is because Powerpoint does not play the movie, it calls on the
operating system to do this. The operating system creates a new frameless
window, in front of the PowerPoint window, to handle the movie.

There are a number of solutions, some of which work for you, some of which
do not.

1) Move the words to a part of the screen not covered by the movie - Doesn't
work for your situation
2) Insert the words into an ActiveX object and reorder them once the movie
has begun playing - This won't work either, since the background of these
ActiveX textboxes aren't transparent.
3) Use the movie editing software to place the words into the movie - If you
are doing this to live music, this won't work either
4) Convert the movie into a very large GIF file. Animated pictures are
handled differently than movies. This will make for a large PPT file and
slow loading.
5) Purchase one of the PowerPoint add-on software packages that allow you to
do this. These are generally not cheap, so I would contact the sellers and
let them know your situation. I use OfficeFX and have been very happy with
the results, but there are several out there.
