Laptop users folder redirection, offline files and synchronization

Hello,

I am getting ready to establish a group policy for my laptop systems that
will redirect the My documents folder, make it available offline and
synchronize while being sensitive to bandwidth (Computer Config->Offline
Files->Configure Slow Link Speed=640). From what I've read, it's advisable
to do this only if the laptop user doesn't travel frequently. Is this true?
I would really like to set up folder redirection and offline files so laptop
users can get their files backed up like all others, but I don't want to
make things tedious for the laptop users by having to endure lengthy
synchronization sessions.

What are the best practices for doing this?

Am I heading in the right direction?

Thanks for the help!

Here is a couple "gotchas" that you should be aware of:

1. Folder Redirection Does Not Succeed When You Specify Mapped Network
Drive. Just make sure you specify a UNC and not a mapped drive.

2. 304624 Caching Redirected Folders Can Use All Available Disk Space
