Laptop starts up and when I click on a user icon it just shuts down

My HP Pavilion N5195 Laptop has a big problem.
When I start up the computer, it goes to the list of USER ICONS. When I

pick my icon it just logs back off. I cannot get past this window. I
can't even get into the files at all. I can't even get into this OS
with Safe Mode.


I had this problem 3 months ago. My quick fix was to buy another
version of Windows XP and install it seperately. I thought that by
doing this, I could somehow access my old files in my previously
installed Windows XP. The new Windows XP is totally functional, but I
still can't access my files from the original Windows XP.


Does anyone know how to access my other files? I was too stupid to back

up my files before I had the problem

Try accessing them in safe mode and granting permission to view them. Good

Take ownership of the old files and folders to regain access to them.
