Laptop Standby - how to turn it off for ever?

Hello NG,

it seems that my laptop wants to go to standby mode, although I have
configured Windows XP Pro not to turn off anything (power settings).
How can I deactivate the standby mode with Windows XP Pro?

You may have to go into the BIOS and check for power settings there too.
 
Yes, would be possible. But my Samsung X20 1730 does not have BIOS power
settings. I already contacted Samsung, but they don't understand me :-(
Does anyone know what I should do with the unwanted standby mode?
