I own a desktop computer and a laptop, the desktop is the main one, used for gaming and internet etc. I got my laptop so that i could do university work wherever i went e.g. my boyfriends house. The laptop is pretty basic and the processor speed is really quite slow. I cant play certain games on it because it just takes too long to load and i dont have the patience. I was wondering, is there anyway i can get it upgraded so that the processor is much faster? Would it be worth paying the money if the laptop was only a few hundred pounds to begin with? Or am i just wasting my time? :)

any help would be mucho appreciated!

Yes you would be wasting your time..An upgrade to the system ram may help if you don't have a lot in there but other than that Laptops were not made for upgrades like home pc's were..;)
