laptop loses intenet when charger plugged in??

My daughter's laptop has until recently been able to access the internet with
the battery charge turned on. Now as soon as she plugs the charger in the
internet immediately turns off. Takes the charger out and the internet
connection resumes!
Its an inconvenience rather than a major problem but can anyone see why this
might happen - dont want to think about faulty connections or anything? and
not enough of a problemto spend money on a repair or anything but any
thoughts would be appreciated
(oh if it makes any difference internet is via wireless network)

This is more likely to be a hardware issue than an XP or OS issue. To test
this, download and burn a "live" Ubuntu (Linux) CD. Boot from this disk,
and configure the wireless adapter. If inserting and removing the power
adapter makes a difference, it's hardware and you'll need to contact
manufacturer support.

Thanks Patrick. Tend to feel the same. I shall try to speak to the
manufacturer to resolve this. I can see this question is more of a hardware
group discussion so appreciate your response
cheers
