Laptop Display

My presario laptop screen only shows 2/3rd's of the
display? There is a strait line running from top to
bottom of the screen, and it is black after the line? I
tried safe mode, bios set-up, Display settings, and the
error is in every screen? Tell me my LCD screen is not
shot? Oh PLease! (warranty expired a month ago!)

Have you tried reloading the video driver.

Hate to tell you, Sean, but if it's on every screen, more than likely, it's
the LCD going out.

If a reload of the display driver doesn't correct the problem you may still
try to contact Compaq/HP and plead your case. They may be nice and replace
it even if it is out of warranty or give a little better deal on a
replacement screen or computer. Its worth a try and won't cost anything
except for a phone call or two.
