laptop button

when i close my lap top,the on,off button now keeps blinking yellow.this has
just started recently,could someone tell me why,and what can i do aside from
shutting down each time i close my laptop.thank you in advance for any help
you can give

Could that indicate that it is charging the battery?

Hi,

Go into the notebooks Power Management Utility in Control Panel and go
through the Tabs and look for the setting on which controls what the
system does when the lid is closed. It sound like it's going into
stand-by.
