I bought a notebook (IBM) with windowsXP Professional as
operative system but as I bought it in Germany the language
associated to the licence is German. Is it possible now to
change the language to English? They are telling that I
need to buy a new licence. Is it true?

Hi

If you want the English version, you will have to purchase a retail English XP CD. You will then either have to delete the German version and install the English one, or dual boot with both versions.

You cannot upgrade or convert from one language version of the OS
to another, so you'll have to purchase and use the full version of
English WinXP to perform a clean installation.
