I have Windows XP SP2, Word 2000, and need to use English, French, and
Chinese languages. Chinese input is set to Microsoft Pinyin IME3.
In Word 2000 the Language selector shows in the Format Toolbar and I can
toggle between languages OK. Also once or twice after a system start up the
Languagebar has worked correctly in Notepad as well. However when I am not
using Word 2000 I now get the following problems.
1. After system start up the Languagebar is invisible, with only the divider
showing in the Taskbar. If I right click on the Taskbar and deselect
Languagebar the divider disappears. If I then right click again and select
Languagebar the Language bar appears correctly in the Taskbar.
2. However the Languagebar never shows anywhere except in the Taskbar.
Restore or minimize has no effect.
3. I cannot toggle between languages with Alt-Shift and the Taskbar always
shows "EN".
Any advice appreciated. I have tried deinstalling and reinstalling the
language files, and this helped for one session. After a restart the problem
reoccurred.
Thanks in advance
