LAN unplugged Problem

Hi to everyone,
I have very typical problem my machine is directly connected to hub,
problem is that when the HUB is switch off, my LAN icon never warn me
about LAN is unplugged, while the other machine that r connected to it
gives this messege, we r using winxp sp2...
Try to solve my problem

The ability to create that notification is dependant on:

1. The NIC hardware.

2. The NIC driver.

3. The "Notify me when this connection has no or limited connectivity"
check box on the properties page for the LAN connection in question.

#1 can be fixed by getting a better NIC.

#2 can be fixed by getting a better driver.

#3 can be fixed by setting the check box.
