LAN configurations on XP Pro?

Hi,
Background: 1 VMWare FreeBSD acts as server
2 VPC2007 DOS acts as client
3 Windows XP Pro as host

I am using Clarkson Telnet from VPC2007, I want to connect from the PC to
the gateway (ADSL modem)The program says there are no such hosts in my
configuration file requested from the DNS

my config:
ip = 192.168.131.65
Gateway = 192.168.131.254
DNS = 192.168.52.1
Submask = 255.255.255.0

And good links or references?

How can I fix that?

Both connection methods are in question
1) VPC2007 DOS -> ADSL modem
2) VPC2007 DOS -> FreeBSD Server
