Lag in dragging, scrolling, opening of progs and startup

Hi there,

I just formatted my computer. Instead of performing
better, i'm facing some problems right now.
The entire system seems to be lagging. For example, when
i try to move a window, the movement is not swift as it
should be. there is lagging and shadows and slow.
also, when i'm using IE6, the page will lag and become
choppy when i scroll.
everytime i open a program, the window will flicker for a
while before it opens.
Also, at windows startup, the screen flickers for a few
seconds before going into the desktop.

i've tried changing the resolution to the lowest, but it
doesn't help.
I really don't know what's wrong. I didn't have this
problem before i formatted my computer. Would appreciate
if anyone can help me out..thanks a lot!

Did you install all of the necessary drivers? If not, you should
right-click on My Computer and select Properties. Hit the Hardware tab and
then Device Manager. If you see any symbols in front of any categories
listed other than a plus sign, then you have a problem with that device.
Likely in your case, the problem is only that a driver is not installed.
You can double-click each problem device and it will indicate the problem
but doesn't necessarily tell you how to fix it.

To re-install your drivers you should first check to see if you have a
drivers cd that came with your computer. If so, insert the cd and run
whatever driver setup programs you find that apply to your system. If you
bought your computer with an earlier version of Windows and then you
upgraded to XP, then you can use the cd as a coaster as it is no longer of
any use. In that case, you should go to computer manufacturer's website and
go to the support section. Search for available drivers for your model,
download them, and install them. If your computer is custom built and there
is no manufacturer, then you will have to get the manufactuer's name and
model number of each board and/or device in your computer except for drives.
(floppy, hard disk, cd, etc..) Then go to their website and download the
appropriate drivers from each of them.

This may not be the cause of your problem, but I suspect that it is.
Regardless, after installing Windows, this must be done for your system to
operate correctly.

Good Luck
