Hi there,
I'm trying to install a Logitech Communicate STX webcam.
When I get to the plugging in the camera part, the Windows wizard starts up,
but soon balks at "ksolay.ax" for the microphone, coming up with this error:
"The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry.
This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your
hardware vendor."
I posted in the Logitech support forums, but they were unable to help and
said it was a Direct X issue, and I need to be asking for help here.
My system is an AMD X2 4200+, nForce4 DFI mobo with a 7800GT and an Audigy
card. All other USB devices (mp3 players, printer, usb drives) are working
fine. Running a recent fresh install of Windows XP SP2 (slipstreamed using
nLite).
Latest version of DirectX: 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) - I've reinstalled this
using the webinstaller and the redistributable to try and fix the problem.
DirectX reports no problems.
I am most definitely using the latest and correct drivers from logitech,
they are dated 21st Nov 2006. I've tried the drivers several times.
Any help would be very greatly appreciated - I'm at my wit's end.
Thank you.
