Hi, I have a computer and just formatted the harddrive. I then went into the
BIOS to change the boot prioity and then restarted my computer, it came up on
the screen saying there was a CMOS fault and that I needed to go into the
BIOS and change it, from that point on the keyboard hasnt worked. I know the
keyboard works as I've tried it on another system. I cleared the CMOS but it
still does the same thing. Can anyone help me please lol.
Thanks Dan

It isn't clear to me exactly what you did. Please answer the

Changed it to what?

Trying to boot from what device? Did you have a CD or diskette in
the drive, if either of those was what you set the first boot
device to?

Where are you (at what kind of screen?) when it doesn't work?

By the way, if your intent was to reinstall Windows cleanly, it
wasn't necessary to do a format first. It's done for you as part
of the clean installation when you boot from the installation CD.

You reset the bios by clearing it. Many of the functions that were
customized for your computer have been lost and will need to be reset!

Can you get into your bios now? If not, connect up a PS2 keyboard. Reboot
the computer. Enter the computer bios. Look for settings that have to do
with "legacy USB keyboard". Make certain that you have this enabled. Save
the bios settings and exit the bios setup program. Reboot the computer. This
enables the new settings to be enabled in your operating system.

Now shut down the computer. Switch back to your USB keyboard. Everything
should be fine.
