Windows XP keyboard probs

have re-installed xp on my mates pc after the dreaded blue screen syndrome, all sorted everything working great for now, but one problem why is it when i attempt to put in @ it is no longer where it should be i get a " instead and vice versa.

any ideas.

i think your keyboard is set to american english
change it english united kingdom
youll find the option in date/time/language in control panel
and then regional and language

OK, you have it set to American keyboard layout, or the other way around!

Go to controll pannel > reagonal and language > languages > details, and somewhere on there is the option to change it!

Yup, i am certain that is the problem, because when i reinstalled my old PC, i had the same problem!

i'll third that, defo language settings.

all versions of windows default to american settings, and unless you change it in the setup thats the way it will stay. (until you change it of course)
