keyboard only works in admin mode

The keyboard used to work for admin and students using a computer in my lab.
Recently, on one of the 20 machines in the lab, the keyboard does not work in
any program after the student logs in. I can find no changes in local policy
settings. Any ideas short of flattening the computer? Restore point did not
help. The computer, other than MS and antivirus updates has not been
modified since 9/26/06 and no restores yielded the desired result.

Hi Jim

If you log in as the user, then go to Device Manager, is the keyboard
present and shown as working? If not, you might try installing it
through Add Hardware in the Control Panel. If it is there, try deleting
it, rebooting and logging in again as the student to have Windows
reinstall it.
