Keyboard Oddity

My Father-In-Law has a curious problem. When he depresses certain keys he
get strange things. For example: Pressing C = 8cd, Pressing Space = \,
Pressing V = 5vg, Pressing S = Open Windows media player. Some keys are ok
and some return the jibberish. He has XP home completely updated.

This is what I have done:
Updated and ran Spy-Bot
Updated and ran Ad-Aware
Updated and ran his virus scan (it is McAfee)
Checked the Accessablity options and none are turned on
Checked add/remove programs for any strange programs
Checked MSConfig for any strange programs
Checked running services for anything out of the ordinary
Deleted Keyboard from Device Manager and Re-Installed it
Tried a restore point from several days ago
Deleted all restore points just in case something weird was hiding in
there.

I cannot think of anything else to try or to look for.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
grimmsie
