Two keyboards - same computer, though. When XP Pro loads, my function keys do
not work. They do work through bios, POST, etc. Keyboard type is US 101/102
key. This one is part of Microsoft wireless desktop 6000 (new today).
Previous was a Logitech Navigator.

I have had some weirdness like this when one was a PS/2 kb vs a USB
keyboard. My fix was to just go with USB kb and make sure the BIOS setting
is turned on for it.

I tried going to USB without success - same symptoms. Keyboards both work
well with Win 2K. It's almost as if something is disabling the function keys
- Asus provided chipset drivers and ATI video drivers are installed but
nothing else at the moment. MB is P4P800E Deluxe and the video is
All-In-Aonder 9600. Any more ideas? I'm stll looking.

ATI cards typically load a hotkey poller. Maybe that is doing something. Go
in to your services and set it to manual, then reboot. At least it will take
it out of play.

did you press the F Lock key to switch from "microsoft SPECAIL keys" to
normal F keys?

did you install the intellitype software that came w/ the keyboard?
