Keyboard and Mouse not working with 2000

I have this bizzar problem. When I start up my computer and go into the
system start up menu, my keboard functions fine, but when i save and exit and
windows starts up, my keyboard no longer responds and neither does my mouse.
I can't even turn the number lock and caps lock lighs on and off. It just
doesn't respond at all. Yet, it works fine before windows loads up.
The only thing that has changed recently was the case and power supply.
Before that, this was a fully functioning computer with no keyboard or mouse
issues.
Is this a driver issue, or a windows issue or what? I'm not even sure
which forum to post this in.

And in case it's relivant, here's the whole story:

Had this computer for a few years, then a few weeks ago the power supply
burnt out. So I went out and bought a new case. Transfered every thing from
the old case to the new case, making sure to write down everything to make
sure it all went back to the way it was before. Everything appears to be
working fine expept for the keyboard and mouse issue. Had no problems with
old case, so the only thing that is different here is the new case and power
supply. So I'm wondering if maybe it's a power issue. Yet the lights on my
keyboard and the laser on my mouse are on, so they are getting power. The
only other thing i can think of is that when the power supply burnt out, it
fried something. :( Is that possible?
This really sucks since i don't have much money to get this computer fixed,
plus it's old and i don't want ot invest too much into it. So any
suggestions would be helpful.

If this is a driver issue, how could i go about reinstalling the drivers?
And where could i get them?

It sounds like the hardware is ok but something in Windows files got
corrupted when the system died. Since you don't have a working keyboard or
mouse in Windows, it's going to be hard to fix anything. You could try
connecting a USB keyboard and/or USB mouse and see if that works.
Otherwise, all you can do is try to do a repair reinstall from the Windows
CD-ROM.
