KERNEL32.DLL

I continue to receive an error message when attempting to
use IE which says (paraphrased), "Internet Explorer has
caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL. IE will now be shut
down."

What's up with that? What can/should I do?

I've already reinstalled IE Service Pack 6. My operating
system is ME.
