IE / Kernel32.DLL errors

Recently, when I fire up Internet Explorer 6 I get a
IEXPLORE caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module
Kernel32.DLL error and IE shuts down immediately. IE6 has
worked fine for over 6 months but now I can't use it. I
haven't added any new software to my Windows 98 system.
Can anyone help solve my problem? I even replaced the
Kernel32.DLL with different file with the same date stamp
but it didn't help. Thank you in advance for any responses.
