Kernel32.dll error help

Guest

I have removed GATOR/GAIN from my computer, updated IE 6 with Service Pack 1
and even reinstalled IE 6 and I still keep getting the error of;
Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll at 015f:bff7all5.

When I open IE it pops up after my home page loads.

What can I do? Without being able to connect to the internet how do I fix
this.

I'm using Win98 with updates.

Hi,
You posted through the web interface to newsgroups. Are you using another
machine?

Try this... From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable
third party
browser extensions." That may allow IE to work. Or, you might also be able
to browse and download programs from the address bar of Windows Explorer.
You should re-enable browser extensions after you resolve this.

Here's my standard post for kernel32 errors...
Another program is interfering with IE- possibly an adware, spyware,
parasite program.
See:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
You should run CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot. Also note the security tips
on that page.
Additional information at:

More security tips at http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm
Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.htm

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
anti-virus, etc. Also... notorious for causing problems- Gator, Kazaa and
some others. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

There are other possibilities for KERNEL32 errors, including corrupted or
outdated video drivers
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#kernel32
Start at Control Panel> Display> Settings> Advanced for information on your
video adapter/driver including (possibly) a link to the manufacturer's
website.

Don,

Thanks. I am using another machine. I even updated my video driver and
that didn't work. From Nvidia.

I did what you said and it worked. I'm in. Thanks!
