kernel32.dll problem

I just bought the game The Movies for my PC and when I try to install it a
message comes up telling me "TheMovies.exe has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." When I click on the link
to see what data this error report contains it reads:
Error signature
AppName: themovies.exe
AppVer: 2.1.12.0
ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.26002180
Offset: 0001eb33

When I click to view the technical information it lists 58 different .dll
files along with TheMovies.exe info and my system information. I believe the
problem is in the kernel32.dll which I have had problems before with Internet
Explorer. I've used two different types of registry fix programs, one I
bought after I had this problem because it promised to fix all my .dll
problems (obviously not true). Can someone please figure this out.

I also downloaded an older version of the kernel32.dll from an website but as
I just said it is an older version. The version currently in my System32
folder is 5.1.2600.2180 and the version I downloaded from the website is
4.10.0.2222. If I install the older version will it mess up my system?
