kellys corner update

I tried and tried to get windows to load. It craps out on sp1 and sp2 maybe
something was wrong at Microsoft download site. I just reloaded it about
5or6 weeks ago.

I finally loaded Linux ubuntu on the machine. I started with win 95 and
windows has been all I have ever known. What a shock this has been.
Different does not even come close to covering it

Hi Sammy,

Load XP back and order the SP2 update on disk and/or get someone else to
download it for you to a pen drive and/or burn it to a cd.

I keep the executable on a pen drive here for the same reason.

Kelly,
I can burn them to a cd. I know microsoft at one time would let you download
the sp1 I found a copy when I was going through all my cd's. I will do som
looking around on the microsoft site and google to see what I can find and
burn sp2. But I will want to have everything together when I start. I thank
you for all your support I know some of the questions people ask are
irritating to experts.

Jim If I order a copy of sp3 will that replace the need for sp1 and sp2? and
will that satisfy the computer? I have not read the entire site but some of
the links take you back to Microsoft. Or am I missing the point.

Sammy,
The way I understand it is Windows service packs include previous
service packs. So installing SP3 will also install those parts of SP1 &
SP2 that are not replaced by SP3 components.

That is not the case with Office service packs, you need to install them
in order.

Hi guys! :)

From my experience, having purchase an SP3 CD from Microsoft earlier
this year, that isn't correct.

Windows XP2 does, indeed, by-pass the need for SP1.

I had expected XP3 to do the same. This proved NOT to be the case. SP2
had to be installed *before* the application of SP3.

I'm sure the gurus will confirm!

Actually it is SP1 installed that is required to load SP3.
