The rest of you didn't stop so why should I?
If anybody here reads the Washington Times (Conservative Paper) you will
find out that those yellow busses NEVER moved. The entire fleet of 2000
busses sat there throughout the entire fiasco and are now very likely a
total loss as they were all under water.
That wasn't the President's responsibility! Do we assign this one to the
Mayor or to the Governor? I vote for the Mayor as it is his city and
therefore his responsibility.
I don't know where the young lady got the idea that the busses were ever
used. There was a picture on Drudge showing the fleet neatly parked in a sea
of water - all 2000 of them!!!!!!!!!!!

It shows that you don't have respect for yourself.

Do you have a link to a respected news source? The Moonie Times, and
Drudge aren't.

But assuming your right, that would make Jane wrong that the poor people
of NO had an easy way out BEFORE the storm.

Translation: only liberal sources of news are valid.

Drudge is not a real news source, more like web personality, a
shock-blogger.

And the Moonie Times is totally suspect, especially since the owner
thinks he is God. I don't get my news from Scientologists either. If I
wanted news from a cult, I'd start my own.

So the translation of your post is that you don't have a link to a
credible news source to back up what MoserRJ claimed. Go figure!

Interesting observation:

Glenn Beck, Rush, Fox News, and some others are not asking the all
important question:

Why didn't the City implement the plans for what was know to be possible
for years?

Why were the buses left unused?

Why was there no request for Federal Assistance more quickly?

Seems there was a documented plan, but it was not followed by the Local
or State Officials.

Don't know Glenn Beck, but Jeff Beck plays a cool guitar.

A doctor-shopping, prescription pill popping, hypocritical gas bag is
certainly not a credible sorce for anything.

Rush is Howard Stern without the lesbian hot babes, the outrageous
humor, and the ratings!

Fox, without its egocentric talking heads is a credible news source.
Unfortunately, that only happens 5 or 10 minutes every hour.
Why didn't the City implement the plans for what was know to be
possible for years?

First show some documentation that the city didn't implement their
plans.
Why were the buses left unused?

That is a good question. I saw video of many school buses flooded out.
Why were they utilitized? Were they ever part of the evacuation plan?
I got a feeling that they weren't, because there wasn't enough of them
to get out everybody that couldn't afford to get out by their own means.
Not saying that that is right, but I suspect that.
Why was there no request for Federal Assistance more quickly?

Federal Assistance was asked for before the storm hit. Bush did declare
the northern Gulf Coast a disaster area, but then after the storm didn't
get aid moving into the affected areas fast enough. So the real
question is why the Feds dragged their feet?!
Seems there was a documented plan, but it was not followed by the
Local or State Officials.

You haven't shown that yet. Try again!

Louisiana Develops Improved Hurricane Evacuation Plan

April 13, 2005 -- According to today's FEMA National Situation Update, a new
hurricane evacuation plan was demanded by Governor Kathleen Blanco after
Hurricane Ivan when a traffic snarl that stretched from New Orleans to Baton
Rouge lasted upward of 12 hours. The plan was put together by state police
and the DOTD and includes evacuation routes for not only New Orleans and
points south, but Lake Charles, Lafayette and the Houma-Thibodaux area.
Under the new plan preparing for evacuations would begin at least 72 hours
in advance. One of the problems during Ivan was the time required to get
barriers, people and other material in place to allow lane reversal on
highways.

a.. Beginning 50 hours in advance, evacuations south of New Orleans would
be ordered, public offices and schools would be closed, but traffic would
remain along normal routes.

b.. At 40 hours, evacuation south of the Mississippi River, including the
West Bank of New Orleans, would be ordered.

c.. In Phase 3, if the storm is a category 3 storm or higher, contraflow
would be triggered.
Problems that slowed traffic last time ran the gamut from signs that were
too hard to read, forcing drivers to slow excessively, to breakdowns. Under
the new system tow trucks will be stationed along the routes and new signs
will be installed. The new hurricane evacuation plan also requires a number
of new ramps to be added or widened, new crossovers and other items at a
cost of $7.5 million.

Says nothing about your School Busses, does it? And I don't see
anything that wasn't done, so please show us what part of the plan
wasn't done!

And next time, give the link too.

The text that was read over the news from the plan, stated public
transportation including public busses and school busses.

this morning, regarding New Orleans.

LOL! What is "read over the news" usually comes from, or ends up in the
print media.

Like I said, your recollections are highly suspect. If you can document
it from a credible source, then as far as I'm concerned, you or your
source is making it up.

OK. I got links, but no explanations or supporting quotes. Explain to
me what the hell you are talking about? Use quotes to support your
explanations and give links to the pages you quotes come from.

If you are trying to convince me of something, then do it, because I'm
certainly not gonna do it for you.

I don't have a specific "in print" quote, as I said, I listened to it on
the news. What I did for you was find IN PRINT (electronic) statements
that matched, including the Actual New Orleans Disaster Planning
document - which shows they didn't follow their own plan.

What's a good source? NBC news tonight had an investigative reporter ask
why were there 2000 busses left there under water. The Mayor was nearby and
he walked away!
