Keeps Crashing

Priscilla

I would like to use my windows mail for a class I am taking separate from my
main email.
I was able to set and retrieve mail, from a gmail account.
Yet when I try to send an email, windows mail keeps crashing..stating it has
encountered an error and has to close.
I am using Window Vista, Home Premium Dell Computer Dual Core and 4GB Ram,
I currently use AVG for all around protection.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Your AVG antivirus was probably installed with its default install option.
If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then
allows you to unselect installing its troublesome email scanning module.

While AVG is uninstalled, try Windows Mail again, just to verify that
the culprit has been found. If AVG corrupted the account, delete it,
restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from intrusive antivirus programs:
