Keeping Firewire alive during standby

Hi there--

I am trying to find out how to keep my FW port powered while my PC is
in standby mode. Basically, I use FW to sync/charge my ipod--when I
put my PC in standby, my ipod discharges instead of charges.

In dev manager, I've located the OHCI Compliatnt IEEE 1394 Host
Controller, but on the Power Management tab, the following check box
is greyed out:

"Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Any other ideas on how to keep the FW powered during standby? I've
checked my BIOS (running an ASUS A7n8x deluxe mobo), but did not see
any options that might help.

Many thanks,

Sandheep

The device might not support those ACPI settings. If its a PCMCIA card you
may have to change the setting for the PCMCIA controller before it allows
changes to PCMCIA devices.

Hope this helps
