Fan keeps on spinning when standby..

Howdy,

Recently I purchased a usb bluetooth stick which works beautifully.
Unfortunately the downside is that it prevents my computer to go
properly into standby. When it goes into standby with the stick into the
usb port, the fan keeps on spinning as it did before it went into standby.

Now on the internet I've seen that this is sort of a common problem and
they advised the following: "go into the power management section and
verify that "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" is
not checked. Any USB device that is set up to bring the computer out of
standby needs a power source to operate, so the computer leaves the
power supply in the normal mode, keeping the fans on, and supplying
power to the usb root hub for the device."
Well, this seems to be a good advice wouldn't it be that the option to
tick this out is not available on most devices. Devices like my modem
and network card do have this option but they don't cause any problems.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to make this damn fan stop spinning?

Thanks in advance, Maarten

The one everyone turns on when you walk into a room so they can resume
breathing without vomiting.
