KB933337 hot fix

I need to download the KB933337 hot fix for Word 2003 but it says I need to
contact Microsoft support at a cost to get it. I have never done this before
and I was wondering if it is available any other way. It seems unusal to have
a fix and not to make it easily available.

I've obtained several hotfixes and never had a problem. Call 1-800-936-4900
(wait for hotfix instructions #3) and tell them you are calling to obtain
the hotfix described in KB933337. If that's all you are requesting, and not
asking for additional help, then you shouldn't be charged.

As I understand the article, this is a hot fix that is only recommended in
regard to a specific issue & is therefore not available as a general
download. The article also states that contacting Customer Support is
necessary to obtain the fix, but that the charges can be cancelled if it is
verified that the fix is required in any given case.

If it isn't an "emergency" you can just wait for the next Service Pack. If
it is a confirmed emergency that will be corrected by the fix there should
be no charge. IOW, you only pay if you don't actually *need* it but just
want to *have* it.
