Ever since this update on Tuesday IE does not work the same for me. If I
type www. etc in the URL space nothing happens. My favorites work. Today I
typed the full URL like http://www. etc and everything worked fine.

Review of past updates on MS web site shows KB908531 updates worked fine
HOWEVER KB900725 and KB913446 failed. Disturbing about this is the fact that
when those updates were done (past months) I had no indication they had
failed.

Has anyone else had a problem with KB908531 acting in the manner I describe?

I've installed the same update on three different PCs
and all are functioning fine. I would suggest the following:

1. Uninstall the KB908531 update and reboot your PC.
2. Perform a Disk Cleanup.
3. Perform a Checkdisk (error-checking).
4. Download and install the updates manually, then reboot.

The newsgroups are becomming more amd more full of posts with problems after
the KB908531 install.

I did 5 updates yesterday (except for another attempt by Bill
the Gates to get me to install his Malicious Software Tool,
which he refused to pester me about despite 10 times I've said
no). So far, my XP Pro SP2 system appears to be OK and no
problems with IE6 that I've noticed.
