Is Microsoft and your PC in Sync?

With all the problem with KB908531 I learned a lot. Interestingly on MS web
site under MS Update I found a line that says "Review your update history".
In checking that I find that KB913446 failed to update. I then checked my
Add/Delete panel and it did not show up. I then d/ld manually the KB913446
patch and updated my pc and it now shows up in my Add/Delete panel. I went
back to MS web site and it stills shows the same "failed".

Be super if MS web site and pc's were crossed checked for updates.

Dan;
What you describe is normal and correct.
The history only shows updates installed using Windows/Microsoft Update.
Since you manually downloaded and installed the update, Windows/Microsoft
Update was not involved and thus the update will not show in the history.
Also only updates that have an uninstall option will show in Add/Remove
Programs.
If the update can not be uninstalled, it will not be in Add/Remove Programs.

I read you Jupiter BUT, a big BUT, it would be nice if MS or someone
developed a program so that the user would know they are in sync. I
faithfully d/l windows updates but 2, although they said were successful, it
turns out were not. I could not find them in Add/Delete panel. They were
KB900725 and KB913446. If you think worthwhile what I say and have some
clout with MS please pass on my proposal. I doubt anything will happen since
I would imagine MS is up to it's eyeballs developing new OS.
