KB834707

This is the name of the update that fubared an Optiplex pc running XP SP2. I
thought it may have been a SP2 issue as I had automatic updates set. What
occured was the PC was rebooted after locking up, then every time I'd get
logged onto the PC the screen would blink without stopping. I could use
Ctrl+Alt+Del to open a few things, most programs wouldn't operate at all.
This also occured in Safe mode. I attempted to uninstall SP2 as I thought
that was the issue. That allowed me to log into the PC again without
blinking, and I was able to see the KB834707 as the culprit because of the
date/time details. However, if I attempt to uninstall it, the PC just hangs.
I have no start option, and still can not use any programs on the pc. Please
advise.
