KB828026 and KB828028 repeatedly update

Hi, The two above mentioned updates are repeatedly requested (downloaded)
and installed. Everytime I go back to windowsupdate it alledges that they
need to be installed (critical updates) whereas they are installed
succesfully at least three times over now. Anybody else has this?

Hello,
Do you have a firewall running? If so, disable it and then install the
patches.

I have the same problem with KB828026 (for Windows Media Player).
Although I have installed it "successfully" (at least this is reported),
every time I go to WindowsUpdate it is offered again.

The details are as follows:
Dual-boot system (Win XP Pro in German language on harddisk C, Win2000
Pro in German language on harddisk D, application data on harddisk E).
Currently working with Win2000. *All* available WindowsUpdates (whether
"important" or not) as well as the OfficXP updates have been downloaded
and installed. KB828026 is the only update offered now.

I also have installed Norton SystemWorks 2004 and Norton Internet
Security 2004, both in German language.
After several "successful" downloads of KB828026, I switched off the
Norton firewall for a few seconds and downloaded KB828026 once again.
(BTW, I kept Norton Intrusion detection etc. switched on.)
The download of the 2.8 MB only took a few seconds, and so did the
"successful" installation. (Maybe the system has recognized that it had
already downloaded that and thus did not really download the 2.8 MB
again.) After these few seconds, I switched the Norton firewall on again.
But the next WindowsUpdate call now still offers KB828026.

I would appreciate a solution to that problem.

Regards,
Matthias
